I always talk my clients out of developing a website if I see that they don’t need one. How do I understand that the client does not need site?

More often than not, a marketplace is enough if you’re just starting your business, you have a limited budget, and you need customers right now. Most likely it will be much more rational to spend the money on advertising and promotion within a particular marketplace. There are already potential customers out there who are willing to pay right now.
A good example is an entrepreneur I know. He became a leader in his field, here in San Diego, in 6 years. He didn’t have a website for the first 4 years. He got most of his customer traffic from the marketplace. When he wanted to scale and get leads from LA, he started doing social media, marketing, website, etc.

If you have a small store, bakery, barbershop, clothing repair shop and serve the residents of your neighborhood, you definitely don’t need a website. Even unique content and a big budget will not help here. Most likely the money will be wasted.

It is normal when a client wants to increase online sales. But it often happens that problems with low sales lie with incorrect marketing, misconfigured advertising, bad branding or general problems with customer service.

Already Have a Website
Sometimes web studio sales managers say that the website design is outdated and because of this sales are low. Most often this is a manipulation. If you have doubts and want to know the truth, I recommend creating a one-page site with a new design and split the traffic 50/50. This way you will save a lot of money and if the new design really works better, then you can settle for a major upgrade.
